Half Caf Chai Latte

I really enjoy chai tea. I have been greatly decreasing my coffee intake over the past several years and I find that chai tea is a great substitute because it has a more full-bodied taste that other teas. I don't really like the sweetness of traditional chais, so I make it at home sans additional sweetners.

My favorite chai is from Celestial Seasonings. I do a mixture of a caffeinated and herbal to decrease the caffeine. I use India Spice Chai and Bengal Spice. While it is still nice and hot, I add a splash of organic soy milk. For some delightful reason, soy milk really foams up when you put it in hot tea or coffee. It is just as good, in my opinion, as a chai latte from your favorite coffee shop.

Enjoy! :)

No GMO!

"You are what you eat."
"You are what you digest and absorb."
"You are what you don't eliminate."

All these are quotes from people in the health care field over the years. They are all true.

Right now, one of the most dangerous threats to our health is GMO food. GMOs are "genetically modified organisms". Recombinant DNA is spliced with natural food for a variety of purposes. Recombinant simply means that DNA is "recombined" to form a food that never occurred in nature. The problem is that your digestive tract can't recognize it to digest and assimilate it and your immune system doesn't know how to react to it.

Did you know that there are children alive today that have never had real food? So much of our American food, over 80%, contains GMOs. Over 80% of the corn, soy, dairy, and canola oil available in this country contain GMOs. Did you know that some tomatoes and strawberries are spliced with fish and pig genes to keep them from freezing? Scary thought. This is wreaking havoc on our health in the form of hormone imbalances, digestive disorders (like Celiac), auto-immune diseases, depression, and many more.

What is the answer? Buy organic whenever possible. If you can't get organic, read the label and make sure that it says something like "GMO-free", or "This product does not contain genetically modified ingredients".

When buying fruits and vegetables, make sure you look at the UPC sticker. If it is commercially grown, it will have 4 digits. If it is organic, it will have 5 digits beginning with a 9. If it contains GMOs, it will have 5 digits beginning with an 8. For example, the UPC for bananas is 4011. If they are organic, it will read 94011. If they are genetically modified, it will say 84011.

Eating purer food is the first step to increasing your level of health.

Today

I will

Meditate on

Eternity

God's Word is eternal. His Word is truth. What you choose to focus hour thought, faith, and action life on is what you will have. How much time do you spend pondering the circumstances of life versus meditating on God's Word, His truth, for your life? Since God's Word is truth, then any circumstance in your life that is contrary for God's truth, the highest truth possible, must be an untruth. Something that is untruth will be found out in due time. The physical world was created out of the spirit. All things that are opposed to God's best for you can be changed by praying, meditating on, and renewing your mind with God's Word and will for your life.

Pick a scripture promise that is an answer to an undesirable circumstance in your life. For example, if you have a pain or a sickness, pick a healing scripture like 1 Peter 2:24, Jeremiah 30:17, or Psalm 103:2-5. Start by meditating one or all of these scriptures for a few minutes each day. The word meditate from the original Hebrew text means to "ponder and mutter (speak softly but out loud) repeatedly". Read them so they get in your eyes. Say them out loud so they get in your ears. Work up to several minutes per day. The more you focus on them, the more they get into your down into your soul so that when that knee pain strikes the first thing that comes out of your mouth are those Godly promises instead of some explicative that against His Word and will for you.

If you are in Christ Jesus, you have the same power inside of you that raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of the Father. Activate that power by taking the TIME to speak faith-filled words over your life! Hallelujah!

Isaiah 40:8, John 17:17, Romans 12:2, Ephesians 3:20, Psalm 145:21

Welcome to Dr. Deb's blog!

For those of you who know me, you know that it has taken me a bit of time to fully launch into the 21st century! From implementing computerized insurance billing to finally letting my husband get me an iPhone for my 50th birthday, I feel like I have finally embraced the electronic age.

My goal for this blog is, of course, to help my patients. Another benefit is that it will save me time. And, that is a blessing for a homeschooling wife, mom, and business owner.

I have plans to post recipes, exercises, nutrition tips, articles on spiritual healing and more. I am looking forward to this new endeavor.

Thank you for your visit!

Blessings and good health,

Dr. Deb
