More on GMOs

All around, GMOs are bad news. They mess with the natural order of things by creating "new-to-nature" substances that nature then rebels against to attempt to get the balance back.

I read in my newsletter from abundantharvestorganics.com that "they" have spliced cotton seeds with resistant genes to the herbicide Round-Up (glyphosate). This is so that when the seed has germinated, they can nuke the whole field with herbicide which will kill everything but the resistant cotton.

But, alas! God will not be mocked! He created weeds and bugs to protect the harvest. We are supposed to learn the rules and work with nature, not against it. Now, according to the Weed Science Society of America (WSSA) what has happened is that there have now emerged 9 glyphosate sesistant weeds infesting over 1 million acres in the southern cotton patch making the new technology more costly that cultivation. (Kinda sounds like some of the problems in our current health-care crises. Didn't we learn the lesson from our mane-made, antibiotic resistant super bugs?)

Anyway, I encourage you to read the whole article on the website in the newletter archives. It is the  Volume 3, Week 14, November 29-December 5, 2009 issue.

What do we think is happening in our bodies when we eat GMO foods? The insanity has to stop! Eat as much organic food as possible. Read labels and make an effort to avoid GMOs. Your health, and the health of our planet, will improve.
